Captain Brad’s Jacksonville background

Brad is a third-generation Jacksonville Beach native. He grew up sailing with his father and later fished local waters during a career with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. His fishing experience ranges from backwater creeks to the Gulf Stream.

The charter’s offshore target list includes grouper, snapper, black sea bass, triggerfish, amberjack and sharks. Cobia, kingfish and tarpon are also named seasonal possibilities. Which fish can be kept is a separate question from which fish may bite.

The Southern Salt boat

The operator lists a custom 2021 Yellowfin with twin Yamaha 200-horsepower four-stroke engines. It has a livewell for keeping bait ready. The advertised maximum is five guests, although the base price includes three.

When offshore travel is unsuitable, Brad also offers inshore fishing for redfish, black drum, sheepshead and trout. Ask whether an inshore alternative is available for your booking and whether it changes the hours or price. It is better to agree on that possibility in advance.

Four, six and eight hours

Published rates are $675 for four hours, $875 for six and $1,075 for eight. These cover up to three guests. Each additional guest adds $100, with five the maximum.

Fishing-license coverage, bait, tackle, ice and water are provided. The FAQ also says the crew cleans, packages and ices the legal catch. Guests bring their own food or snacks, preferred drinks, sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat.

Meet at Mayport

The departure is Mayport Boat Ramp at 4870 Ocean Street. Confirm your arrival time with Brad, rather than assuming the ramp’s general opening time is the charter time. Call, text or email to discuss dates and fishing preferences.

The reviewed public page does not give a complete deposit or cancellation schedule. Request those terms with the quote, especially for an offshore booking that depends on sea conditions. Mention the ages in your party and ask about any needed child-sized life jackets or boarding help.

Details checked October 2, 2026, using the operator’s published information. Rates, boats, meeting points and policies can change; confirm the final trip details directly. Listed species describe possible targets, not a guaranteed catch or an open harvest season.
