Meet Captain Gene Maxwell

The operator identifies Maxwell, also called Capt. Geno, as a St. Petersburg native and USCG 100-ton captain. His biography describes more than 20 years of professional fishing experience. Teaching guests to target snook, redfish, trout and tarpon is a stated part of the service.

Trips and published prices

Inshore rates are $400 for two hours, $600 for four, $800 for six and $1,000 for eight. Nearshore trips are $800 for four hours, $1,000 for six, $1,200 for eight and $1,400 for ten. Seasonal tarpon and kingfish trips use the same four- through ten-hour price schedule. Those rates cover two people; additional passengers cost $50 each, with a maximum of six.

Boat and fishing grounds

The captain's biography lists a 24-foot Mako bay boat. Inshore trips focus on snook, redfish and trout, while nearshore outings can target grouper, hogfish, snapper and sharks. Tarpon and kingfish dates are seasonal; ask which boat and trip suit your chosen month.

Included gear and family details

Published inclusions cover rods, tackle, licenses, ice and bottled water. Legal keeper fish can be filleted. The service welcomes all ages, but asks parents to consider bringing a familiar, properly fitting life jacket for very young children. Gratuity is additional.

Planning your arrival

The confirmed pickup address is in Tierra Verde, rather than downtown St. Petersburg. Bring snacks, sun protection and other desired drinks. The FAQ says an early return for seasickness does not reduce the scheduled trip charge. Obtain the complete cancellation and weather terms when booking, especially for a large group requiring several boats.

Details checked September 28, 2026, using the operator’s published information. Rates, boats, meeting points and policies can change; confirm the final trip details directly. Listed species describe possible targets, not a guaranteed catch or an open harvest season.
