Captain Dean and the vessel

Dean is described as a second-generation Destin fisherman with more than 30 years on charter and commercial boats. Seahorse has an air-conditioned cabin, seating, tables, a restroom, television and a stereo. Its equipment descriptions include sonar, GPS navigation and autopilot.

The booking page says the deck is ready for up to eight anglers even though the vessel carries up to 16 passengers. Larger groups should ask how fishing rotations work. The company also notes that phone reception or Wi-Fi should not be assumed offshore.

Fishing options

The FAQ describes shorter family trips involving trolling, shark fishing or seasonal sight fishing. Longer trips allow bottom fishing for grouper, snapper and amberjack or trolling for species such as mackerel, wahoo, mahi-mahi and blackfin tuna.

Extended offshore options are geared toward experienced anglers and may target tuna, swordfish and marlin. The operator lists nearshore, offshore, reef and wreck fishing. Discuss the route, travel time and target species before selecting a duration.

Inclusions and rate discrepancies

Ice, tackle, licenses, captain, mate and dead bait are listed as supplied. The FAQ says fresh live bait is normally caught nearshore during the morning departure. The mate helps anglers and cleans and bags the catch after the trip; a 15–20% gratuity is described as customary.

Published prices need clarification: several pages state $325 per hour, while the rate-breakdown text states $350. Both describe a base of six passengers and an additional 10% of the trip price for each passenger above six. Obtain a written quote instead of relying on one of the conflicting hourly figures.

Booking and boarding

The website asks for cancellation at least ten days ahead and warns that a no-show can be charged the full amount. Its language about a held card and a refundable deposit is not fully consistent, so confirm the actual payment and cancellation terms. Weather decisions are made by the captain.

The boat is listed at 314 East Harbor Boulevard, about a mile east of the Destin bridge. Call for precise directions and bring food, drinks, sun protection and personal items. Discuss coolers and arrival time with the crew.

Details checked September 26, 2026, using the operator’s published information. Rates, boats, meeting points and policies can change; confirm the final trip details directly. Listed species describe possible targets, not a guaranteed catch or an open harvest season.
