Captain and crew

Colby grew up on the upper Texas Coast and moved to Clearwater in 1980. His official biography describes decades of licensed vessel operation and experience with both reef fishing and trolling. First mate “Jersey” Jim is also introduced on the crew page, with a background in commercial and charter fishing.

Aboard Double Hook

The boat is a 39-foot Stapleton with twin Detroit diesels and a 15-foot beam. It carries up to six guests, giving a private group its own fishing platform. Visitors with larger parties can ask about coordinated boats, while split charters may be arranged for people who want to share the cost.

Trips and possible catches

Four-, six- and eight-hour fishing trips are offered, with longer outings planned directly with the captain. Grouper, snapper, kingfish, Spanish mackerel and sharks appear among the advertised targets. The method and fishing grounds depend on the season, sea conditions and time available.

Equipment and catch handling

The business describes the boat as fully equipped for fishing and asks guests to bring their refreshments. The crew cleans, bags and ices retained fish. Confirm license coverage, any rental or bait charges and personal-gear preferences when receiving a quote, rather than assuming every item is included.

Booking and arrival

Call or text Colby, or email the business, for current rates and availability. A fixed price schedule was not confirmed on the reviewed pages. Request the deposit and cancellation terms and the current slip directions. Allow time for marina parking and beach traffic before the scheduled departure.

Details checked September 27, 2026, using the operator’s published information. Rates, boats, meeting points and policies can change; confirm the final trip details directly. Listed species describe possible targets, not a guaranteed catch or an open harvest season.
