The captain and fleet

Jay served seven years in the U.S. Coast Guard and says he has held a captain’s license since 1998. The fleet includes a restored Aquasport 222 for shallow and nearshore water and a larger 26-foot twin-engine center console for other trips. Ask which boat fits your group.

Rates and fishing options

Standard inshore rates for one to four people are $550 for four hours, $750 for six and $900 for eight. The published extra-passenger charge is $50 per person; confirm the maximum for the chosen boat. Seasonal tarpon trips are offered around Sanibel and Captiva, with separate pricing. Captain-for-hire service on your own vessel is listed at $75 per hour with a four-hour minimum.

Included equipment

Fishing-license coverage, rods, reels, tackle, bait, ice and bottled water are included. Bring food, other drinks, a hat, polarized sunglasses and sunscreen lotion. The business asks guests to avoid spray sunscreen.

Booking and cancellations

A $100 deposit secures the date. It is generally non-refundable unless the captain cancels for severe weather and an alternative date cannot be arranged. Cancellation within 48 hours can incur the full fare. The balance can be paid by cash or major card; checks are not accepted. Confirm the selected dock and final passenger count.
