Fishing Florida Atlantic Coast
The Atlantic side combines tidal lagoons, major inlets, beaches, nearshore reefs, deep wrecks, and blue water that may be relatively close to shore in South Florida.
Conditions That Matter
Inlet current can be fast and dangerous. Offshore plans should account for opposing wind and current, especially when an onshore wind builds steep seas against north-flowing water.
Common Targets
Depending on season, habitat, and current regulations, anglers may encounter snook, redfish, pompano, tarpon, sailfish, mahi, wahoo, blackfin tuna, king mackerel, and bottom fish.
Plan the Trip
Check the marine forecast, tide station closest to the actual fishing area, launch access, parking, protected zones, and current fishing regulations. Local conditions should always override a generalized regional guide.
