Ariel Medero and the two boats

Ariel is originally from Argentina and has lived and fished in Marathon since 1994 according to his biography. The boat page also introduces first mate Austin Hall. Live baiting, bottom and wreck work, and deep dropping form part of Ariel's fishing background.

The 35-foot boat is listed for deep-sea fishing, swordfish and tarpon with up to six people. The 25-foot boat's nearshore fares have a four-person maximum. The operator describes seating, shade, dry storage, navigation and fish-finding equipment, with the exact amenities to confirm for the chosen boat.

Offshore fares and fuel qualifications

Published 35-foot fares are $1,200 for four hours, $1,700 for six and $2,100 for eight. The page warns that offshore fuel surcharges may apply when fuel exceeds $5.50 per gallon. It also says prices can change with fuel costs.

Ten-hour swordfish is shown at $2,300 and four-hour tarpon at $1,050. A nearby notice mentions a temporary $150 increase. Ask whether that adjustment is already included or still additional. Tarpon availability is advertised for May through July.

Nearshore fishing and shared requests

The 25-foot nearshore menu lists three hours at $750, four at $900 and six at $1,600. A five-hour category appears without a clear amount in the reviewed text. Have Ariel quote that choice instead of assuming a proportional rate.

Guests may submit their preferred days, boat and fishing style for a split trip. The crew tries to match parties; a form submission does not guarantee another group will join. Confirm the shared fare, minimum passenger requirement and outcome if no match is found.

Licenses, cleaning and the mate

The price information lists fishing licenses, bait, tackle, rods, a cooler with ice and fish cleaning. A twenty-percent deposit is required. The operator describes a twenty-percent tip as customary and says tips go to the first mate; clarify how gratuity is handled in your booking.

Call or text 305-731-4348 or email captainarielmedero@yahoo.com. The base is the Hammocks resort at 1688 Overseas Highway. Request slip and parking directions, the full fuel-adjusted total and cancellation policy. Pack food, personal drinks and sun protection as instructed, and agree on retention or release expectations before departure.

Details checked October 10, 2026, using the operator’s published information. Rates, boats, meeting points and policies can change; confirm the final trip details directly. Listed species describe possible targets, not a guaranteed catch or an open harvest season.
