Fish with a Nature Coast native

Rick grew up around the Gulf waters of Citrus County and identifies himself as a member of the Homosassa Guides Association. He offers help for first-time anglers as well as trips for people comfortable using their own fishing skills.

His fishing methods include slow trolling for grouper, drifting grass flats for trout and fishing rock piles for species such as cobia and mackerel. Redfish and sheepshead are also regular targets on his published list. The plan changes with conditions and the species available.

A boat for up to four anglers

Fishing takes place on a 24-foot KenCraft Bay Rider powered by a Yamaha 150. Rick lists a maximum of four anglers for fishing trips. He uses both artificial lures and live bait with spinning tackle.

The website includes fishing-license coverage, ice and cleaning the legal catch in its fishing rates. Guests interested in a shore lunch can ask for that addition, listed at $100 per boat. Discuss food arrangements before paying for the extra service.

Fishing and scallop prices

A half-day fishing charter costs $500 for one or two people on the published rate page. A full day is $650 for one or two. Each extra angler adds $100, up to the four-person fishing limit.

Seasonal scalloping has a different passenger allowance. The listed full-day price is $500 for one to four guests, then $50 for each additional person up to six. Some snorkeling equipment is available, but Rick recommends bringing your own. Confirm the current scallop season rather than using the website’s broad summer description as a legal calendar.

More than a fishing stop

Rick also offers wildlife-focused time around islands, bird rookeries and the local waterways. His ecology background can be useful for guests interested in the birds and habitats they pass. A fishing day may be discussed alongside dolphin, manatee or bird watching, without a promise of any particular sighting.

Call or email to agree on the launch, hours and balance due. The reviewed pages do not clearly set out a cancellation deadline or deposit policy. Ask for those terms, and tell Rick if you would like wildlife viewing or a shore lunch included in the schedule.

Details checked October 2, 2026, using the operator’s published information. Rates, boats, meeting points and policies can change; confirm the final trip details directly. Listed species describe possible targets, not a guaranteed catch or an open harvest season.
