A team with different specialties

The published crew includes owner Nick Gonzalez, captain and manager Kristjan Must, offshore captain Ryan Peters and inshore guide John Prahl. Prahl helped establish the business and brings a Miami backcountry background. Ask who will guide the particular trip you choose.

Double Threat’s Hatteras measures almost 43 feet. It has twin Cummins diesels, a tower, an air-conditioned cabin, a galley and a bathroom. The interior was refurbished in 2021. Offshore capacity is six, while inshore trips normally take three, with a fourth possible only by prior discussion.

Private trips from bay to ocean

The business does not sell split-charter seats. A booking reserves the boat for your party, with the same charter price regardless of how many guests come within its limit. Deep-sea options include half, three-quarter and full days; night trips last about four hours.

The crew uses a tournament-style approach offshore and also welcomes beginners. Inshore or night fishing offers a different setting for tarpon, snook and other bay species. Tell the office whether you want a focused target, a family introduction or a day learning a particular method.

Equipment, food and catch

Rods, reels, tackle, bait, licenses and safety equipment are included. An ice cooler and refrigerator are available for your food and drinks. The crew fillets and bags legal keeper fish at the dock.

Request the current rate for the chosen boat and duration. Payment after the trip can be made by major card, cash or Zelle, and the company suggests a 15 to 20 percent gratuity. Each guest completes an electronic waiver before sailing.

Deposits and the right dock

Deposits become nonrefundable within 30 days, except for the stated unsafe-weather provision. If a weather reschedule cannot be arranged, the deposit is returned. One reschedule may be requested at least 72 hours ahead, subject to availability.

Offshore guests are told to arrive fifteen minutes early at Dinner Key and use paid lot 62. Inshore trips usually meet at Seminole Boat Ramp, sometimes switching to Key Biscayne for conditions. Follow the location in your booking email rather than assuming every Double Threat trip uses the Hatteras slip.
