James Dumas and the East Cape skiff

Dumas grew up fishing Florida canals before pursuing larger saltwater fish. His biography describes time living in Costa Rica and Belize before settling in Northeast Florida. He guides full time and enjoys teaching both new and experienced anglers.

The listed boat is an East Cape Vantage skiff. Its shallow draft allows access to flats and creeks that suit sight fishing. Ask about boarding and seating if anyone in your group needs extra support.

Trips, prices and group size

The rate page, dated December 1, 2025, lists four hours at $550 and six at $750 for up to two people. A third guest adds $50. Groups larger than three can discuss a multi-boat arrangement.

Redfish, trout and flounder are core targets, with tarpon and cobia mentioned as other possibilities. The guide chooses the water and method around the conditions. A specific fish should be discussed before reserving.

Equipment and meeting point

Licenses, spinning and fly tackle, live bait, lures, ice and bottled water are supplied. Guests may bring snacks and additional drinks. Ask James about handling any fish you hope to take home.

Two marinas appear in the contact information: the Conch House and Camachee Cove. Get the correct dock and arrival time directly. Confirm the current quote, deposit and cancellation arrangements, especially if using the older published rate page to plan a budget.

Details checked October 9, 2026, using the operator’s published information. Rates, boats, meeting points and policies can change; confirm the final trip details directly. Listed species describe possible targets, not a guaranteed catch or an open harvest season.
