A long connection to local water
Mike describes growing up in Daytona Beach and fishing local saltwater from childhood. He identifies himself as Coast Guard licensed and insured, with authorization for guided trips in relevant national-park and refuge waters.
His outings combine fishing with attention to wildlife and the area's history. Dolphins, birds and other animals appear in his descriptions and photographs, but sightings should be regarded as possibilities. The fishing itself uses light tackle for a mixed range of inshore fish.

Backcountry fishing choices
The listed fish include seatrout, black drum, snook, redfish and jack crevalle. Mosquito Lagoon flats trips and saltwater fly fishing are offered by request. Let Mike know if those specialized options matter to you rather than booking a general mixed-bag trip and expecting the same approach.
Children are welcome. Discuss ages, fishing experience and the full party size, because the arrangement for a family differs from that for one person seeking casting time. The site's claims about calm water should not be read as a guarantee that no one can become uncomfortable.
Rates by party size
The 2025 and 2026 rate list gives a solo trip at $375 for four hours or $400 for five. Two guests are $400 or $450 for those durations, three are $425 or $475, and four are $450 or $500.
A trip of up to three hours is displayed at $375 for up to four people. Five- and six-person options have their own prices, and additional time is listed at $50 per hour. Confirm the applicable passenger arrangement and total rather than multiplying a solo price.
Tackle, tours and payment
Rods, tackle, bait and fishing-license coverage are advertised as included. Bring your chosen food and drinks and ask about cooler space, shade, seating and how any legal retained catch is handled. Those comfort details are not fully described by the main rate list.
Sightseeing trips are also available. The main page currently lists a two-hour tour at $275, while a separate tour page still shows $225. Have Mike confirm the current amount. Credit-card payments carry a published three-percent addition.
Reserve directly with Mike
Call or text 386-689-3781 or email EdgewaterRiverGuide@gmail.com. Mike invites questions before booking, so use that conversation to choose between short family fishing, a longer outing, fly fishing or a wildlife tour.
The reviewed pages do not clearly settle every deposit and cancellation term. Request those details and the unsafe-weather procedure before reserving. Get exact launch directions and the required arrival time directly, since the broad Edgewater, New Smyrna and lagoon service area does not identify one fixed boarding dock.
Details checked October 11, 2026, using the operator’s published information. Rates, boats, meeting points and policies can change; confirm the final trip details directly. Listed species describe possible targets, not a guaranteed catch or an open harvest season.
