Captain Karl and the boat
Karl grew up boating in Pensacola, then spent 35 years in southern Louisiana fishing and sailing. The biography says he moved to Destin in 2017 and holds a Coast Guard 100-ton Master license for near-coastal waters. The current homepage says he personally runs every trip.
The listed boat is a 2018 32-foot EdgeWater center console powered by twin 300-horsepower Yamahas. The maximum is six fishing passengers. Ask about seating, shade and facilities if comparing this boat with a larger enclosed sportfish. The reviewed description does not establish a bathroom for the current setup.

An offshore-only fishing menu
The fishing page explicitly says the business does not offer nearshore fishing trips. Its offshore methods include bottom fishing for snapper, grouper, triggerfish and amberjack, plus trolling for tuna, mahi and wahoo. Deep drops may target golden tilefish, snowy grouper and yellowedge grouper.
Those methods require different water and time. Tell Karl which style interests your group and how much offshore experience everyone has. Permits and available targets do not guarantee a catch or allow fish to be retained during a closed season. Have the captain explain the practical options for your reservation date.
Rates and extra guest costs
The published six-hour fishing rate is $1,440. Eight hours is $1,920, ten hours $2,400 and twelve hours $2,800. The listed fares cover the first four people. Each additional guest costs $100, up to the six-person maximum. The company notes that a fuel surcharge may apply.
Confirm the full group total and fuel arrangement before booking. Crew gratuities are additional, with the business suggesting roughly 15 to 20 percent for good service. The trip duration may be extended while aboard if the captain has availability, but agree on the extra cost before adding time.
Supplied gear and personal items
Fishing licenses, rods, tackle, bait and ice are included. Legal catches are cleaned and bagged. Coolers for food and drinks are available, but passengers provide their own refreshments. Bring a hat, sunglasses, lotion sunscreen and any weather layer you may need.
Glass bottles are not permitted. Families bringing a child under seven are instructed to bring a correctly fitting life jacket, which must be worn while underway. Discuss the child's size and the current life-jacket arrangements with Karl before departure. Ask for precise dock directions and transport arrangements for fish after the trip.
Booking and other outings
Call or text 850-797-1978 or email fishnfundestin@gmail.com. A 20 percent deposit is required once the captain confirms the booking. Cash, major cards, PayPal, Zelle and Venmo are listed payment choices. Card payments incur a 3.5 percent fee, and the balance is due by the trip day.
Changes or cancellations at least three days before the trip are free under the FAQ. Later changes or a no-show forfeit the deposit, subject to the listed weather, captain-related and exceptional-circumstance provisions. Nonfishing options include a four-hour Crab Island outing from $700 and two-hour dolphin or sunset outings from $350; confirm their current totals separately.
Details checked October 11, 2026, using the operator’s published information. Rates, boats, meeting points and policies can change; confirm the final trip details directly. Listed species describe possible targets, not a guaranteed catch or an open harvest season.
