A Miami captain who teaches lure fishing
Prieto grew up in Miami and describes more than twenty years exploring the region’s fishing. He has also presented seminars on using Monster3x lures. Artificial baits are his preferred method, but live and natural bait are available when they better suit the trip.
Guests can choose a 26-foot Barker bay boat or a 17-foot Hell’s Bay Professional skiff. The Barker’s advertised pricing is based on up to three anglers, with a fourth costing $50 more. The skiff is limited to two anglers.

Match the boat to the outing
The bay-boat menu includes four-hour inshore trips, eight-hour days, four-hour night tarpon and full-day Everglades fishing. The skiff is offered for four- or eight-hour flats fishing and full Everglades days. Call for the current base price of each option.
Possible targets include tarpon, snook, spotted seatrout, snapper, grouper and redfish, depending on where the trip takes place. A quiet flats session and a mixed-species family outing need different plans. JP says he adapts techniques to the guests’ experience.
Children and supplied equipment
Children aged five and older are welcomed in the published information. Rods, reels, tackle, bait, fishing-license coverage, ice and water are provided. Bring snacks, lunch, other drinks, sun protection and non-marking shoes or sandals.
Rain gear and insect repellent may be useful depending on the forecast and route. Ask which boat best suits your group’s needs for seating and shade. If you want to bring personal tackle, tell JP what you have and what you hope to use it for.
Deposit and marina confirmation
A 20 percent deposit secures a reservation, with the balance charged on the charter day. The stated cancellation policy returns the deposit for cancellation at least five days ahead; it becomes nonrefundable inside that window.
The captain may cancel for weather, so confirm the refund or rescheduling arrangement. Black Point is the listed marina, but alternate launches can be arranged. Get the actual meeting point and local start time from JP before setting out.
Details checked October 4, 2026, using the operator’s published information. Rates, boats, meeting points and policies can change; confirm the final trip details directly. Listed species describe possible targets, not a guaranteed catch or an open harvest season.
