Captain Chris' seasonal fishing background

Chris grew up in western Michigan and began working as a charter deckhand for salmon on the Great Lakes. His biography describes later freshwater guiding and a move toward saltwater after visiting the Keys. He now divides his fishing year between different regions.

The published schedule places him in Alaska during summer, Michigan in fall and the Florida Keys in winter and spring. That makes date confirmation especially important. A year-round marketing description should not be taken as proof that Chris is personally available in Florida every month.

The 27-foot Century

The Century is described with bow dry storage, seating around the boat and a T-top for shade. A Yeti cooler at the stern holds ice and water, with space for guest snacks and drinks. Navigation electronics, fish-finding equipment and required safety gear are listed.

Rods, reels, tackle, bait and fishing license coverage are included. The fishing can involve live bait, trolling, reef or wreck work, bridges and backcountry areas. Ask the captain to choose the approach for your group and current conditions rather than trying to fit every method into one short outing.

Rates, hours and departure differences

The main website's four-hour reef booking is listed at $750. Six- and eight-hour options are also advertised, but their current complete prices should be obtained directly. The four-hour listing gives Big Pine RV Park as the meeting location.

A related Marathon marketing site describes the same 27-foot Century and trip lengths but supplies a different contact number. Use the main site's booking confirmation to settle where your trip actually starts. Reef fishing can include snapper and grouper when lawful, while tarpon and shark plans need their own target discussion.

Packing and confirming the reservation

Bring sunscreen, a hat, polarized glasses, light layers and lunch or snacks. The service asks guests not to bring glass. A small waterproof bag is useful for a phone and belongings, while the supplied cooler provides ice and water.

The published FAQ says legal-catch cleaning can be arranged and unsafe conditions may require a different plan or rescheduling. Obtain the full deposit and refund terms before reserving. Confirm the guest allowance, chosen captain and exact dock with the trip price, especially when comparing Marathon advertising with the Big Pine listing.

Details checked October 10, 2026, using the operator’s published information. Rates, boats, meeting points and policies can change; confirm the final trip details directly. Listed species describe possible targets, not a guaranteed catch or an open harvest season.
