A large boat with a working fishing limit

The operator lists American Spirit as approved for 149 passengers, but says it normally limits fishing to about 60 to 65 anglers for comfort. Those numbers describe different things. The total passenger certificate is not the number of fishing positions offered on each trip.

Captain Jim Green is named among the crew. Spectators can use the upper deck, while the galley sells breakfast items, burgers, hot dogs, drinks and snacks. You can bring your own refreshments in a cooler smaller than 60 quarts. Glass containers are not allowed.

Reef fishing is the main activity

Most trips focus on bottom fishing for reef fish. Snapper, grouper, triggerfish, amberjack and porgies appear in the operator’s target list. Fishing depth and distance increase with the trip length and depend on weather and the legal seasons.

The crew supplies a rod and reel, tackle, cut bait and license coverage. Occasional trolling during the run is possible, but this is primarily a reef-fishing outing. The FAQ suggests allowing roughly half the trip for travel, although that balance varies.

Ticket prices and private bookings

Published adult tickets are $75 for four hours, $95 for six, $125 for eight and $155 for ten. Listed child and spectator prices are half those amounts. Ask which ages qualify for the child ticket. The site adds 7% sales tax and a 4% card-payment charge.

Private fishing charters start at $2,600 for four hours for up to 40 passengers. Longer trips and additional guests cost more. The same business also advertises Making Time, a 29-foot walkaround boat with a toilet and twin Yamaha 300 engines, for up to six passengers. Request its separate quote.

Arrival and taking fish home

Plan to arrive 30 minutes before departure. A 48-hour cancellation policy is posted, so check how it applies before paying. Crew gratuity is separate, and the site describes fish cleaning at the dock as a service performed for tips.

The boat uses numbered stringers to keep each party’s legal catch together. Keep your boarding pass with the assigned number so you can claim your fish. Confirm parking arrangements with the booth when you book.

Details checked October 2, 2026, using the operator’s published information. Rates, boats, meeting points and policies can change; confirm the final trip details directly. Listed species describe possible targets, not a guaranteed catch or an open harvest season.
