Gary Strickland and the MicroDraft

Gary is the owner and lead guide, with an advertised background in full-time shallow-water guiding. His custom 22-foot MicroDraft skiff was built in Crystal River. A trolling motor, Power-Poles and a jack plate help it work shallow fishing areas.

The vessel listing permits four guests, while some individual trip descriptions are for two. Confirm how many people the rate covers and which limit applies. Ask about seating and shade before booking a family session.

Fishing and scalloping rates

Morning and afternoon half-day fishing start at $450, with descriptions identifying four hours. A full-day guided outing starts at $600. Ask Gary to confirm the full day's clock hours and planned range.

Four-hour morning scalloping starts at $400 during the lawful season. Fishing descriptions name redfish, snook, seatrout and shallow-water grouper, with cobia and tarpon as other possibilities. Match the selected package to the conditions and current rules.

The equipment supplied

Fishing rods, reels, tackle, lures, license coverage and cleaning or filleting are advertised. Live-bait availability should be confirmed for the exact trip. Guests bring snacks, drinks, sun protection and clothing for the day.

Glass bottles are prohibited. Discuss any personal tackle before bringing it, and ask about snorkeling equipment for scalloping. A fishing license inclusion does not establish every other swimming or harvesting arrangement.

Booking from Bayport Park

Phone or email Gary for the date and ramp instructions. A deposit is applied at checkout, with the balance paid by credit or cash on the trip date. Confirm the amount and any processing charge.

The stated guest cancellation period is one day before the trip for a deposit refund. Captain cancellations for weather, health or equipment issues allow rescheduling or a refund. Obtain the actual cutoff and check-in time in the confirmation.

Details checked October 9, 2026, using the operator’s published information. Rates, boats, meeting points and policies can change; confirm the final trip details directly. Listed species describe possible targets, not a guaranteed catch or an open harvest season.
