Captain Mike and small-group fishing

Mike's introduction describes more than 20 years of fishing experience. Beginners and experienced anglers are welcomed, with guidance on light tackle. Fishing groups are limited to four, while dedicated scalloping permits six.

The main fishing area is the shallow coastal water and grass flats near Steinhatchee. Ask Mike for the actual vessel's seating, shade and boarding arrangements. The FAQ does not provide a complete current boat specification.

Dated fishing prices

For September 8, 2026 through June 14, 2027, the site lists $500 for four hours, $600 for six and $700 for eight. These prices cover one or two guests, with $50 added for each extra person up to four.

The posted 2026 scallop-season fishing rates were $600 for four hours or $700 for six, on the same guest basis. Because those dates have passed, obtain the rates for your intended season rather than assuming the summer prices apply year-round.

Scalloping and equipment

The seasonal scallop trip is listed at $500 for four hours and up to six people. A combined outing lists two hours fishing and four scalloping at $850 for up to four. Confirm the next legal season and current package prices with Mike.

Fishing equipment, ice and separate coolers for catches and guest refreshments are provided. Scalloping supplies include adult masks, snorkels and fins, but bringing well-fitting personal gear is encouraged. Ask specifically about children's equipment and fishing license coverage.

Packing and marina directions

Guests bring food, drinks, clothing for the forecast and lotion sunscreen. Spray sunblock is prohibited. Scallopers should also bring towels and discuss their swimming comfort before reserving.

Call or email Mike for the meeting dock at 104 First Avenue South. Request arrival time, parking, deposit and payment arrangements. Confirm guest cancellation and unsuitable-weather terms, particularly for a combination trip with time in the water.

Details checked October 9, 2026, using the operator’s published information. Rates, boats, meeting points and policies can change; confirm the final trip details directly. Listed species describe possible targets, not a guaranteed catch or an open harvest season.
