Captain Chuck and the Dusky
Chuck Joe is a firefighter and paramedic whose fishing background includes childhood trips with his father and tournament fishing. He welcomes experienced anglers and families.
The listed vessel is a 2024 Dusky Tournament Edition measuring 27 feet 8 inches, powered by twin 200-horsepower Suzukis. It has a Minn Kota iPilot trolling motor and a private toilet. Standard packages cover up to six guests.
Seasonal shark trips and reef options
The trip menu advertises four-hour shark fishing from May through October at $600. A four-hour near-reef trip is listed for November through April at $650. Six-hour nearshore or offshore fishing is $1,000, and eight hours offshore is $1,400.
Reef trips may encounter snapper, sea bass, cobia, triggerfish and other species. The operator prefers catch and release for sharks. Ask which targets suit the current conditions and which fish may legally be retained.
Inclusions and onboard rules
Gear, tackle, bait, licenses, fuel, ice and bottled water are included. Trip photos are also supplied afterward. Guests bring food, other refreshments, hats and sun protection.
The operator requires children twelve and younger to wear a life jacket throughout the trip. Smoking is prohibited. Discuss any other onboard needs before arriving at the ramp.
Reservations without a deposit
The FAQ says no deposit is required and requests at least 24 hours’ notice if a guest needs to cancel. Weather or mechanical problems can lead to rescheduling or cancellation by the operator.
Contact Chuck for an available date and the final launch time. A seasonal package is a useful starting point, but the captain’s weather decision determines whether the planned water is practical.
Details checked October 9, 2026, using the operator’s published information. Rates, boats, meeting points and policies can change; confirm the final trip details directly. Listed species describe possible targets, not a guaranteed catch or an open harvest season.
