Private fishing with Captain Tom

Tom Cat advertises fishing for guests of different ages and experience levels. Offshore possibilities include mahi, sailfish, blackfin tuna, cobia and mackerel, while snook and tarpon appear in its broader fishing descriptions. The captain recommends targets according to the season and day's conditions.

Four-, six- and eight-hour offshore options allow up to six passengers. Departure times are flexible and are discussed with the group. The website describes some fishing grounds as close to Jupiter Inlet, but travel times still depend on the sea and selected location.

Prices and supplied equipment

Offshore rates are $700 for four hours, $1,000 for six and $1,300 for eight. Inshore fishing starts at $550. Offshore rates are for the boat and include bait, tackle and license coverage; live bait is supplied when available.

Ice and drinking water are provided. The crew cleans and fillets legal keeper fish, which guests may take home. Bring your food, preferred beverages, towel, camera and clothing suitable for the forecast. A mate's tip is separate from the headline rate.

Payment and cancellation rules

Tom Cat accepts cash or checks and says it does not accept credit cards. No deposit is requested, but the FAQ requires cancellation at least 48 hours ahead to avoid a charge of 50% of the charter rate. Confirm how the deadline applies to your reservation.

The weather policy allows the crew to cancel when the inlet or sea is unsafe. The FAQ also discusses early returns and purchased live bait, which is non-refundable. Ask Tom to explain these arrangements before leaving the dock.

Contact and departure

Call or text Tom, email him, or send a booking request through the website. The marina address is 18487 SE Federal Highway. Confirm the precise meeting point, arrival time and parking instructions for the day.

Tell the captain whether you want fishing or a sightseeing activity. Sunset cruises and snorkel adventures have their own arrangements. Ask for current vessel amenities, particularly a restroom, shade and boarding support, when organizing a family group.
