A Stuart captain and custom C-Hawk
Steve Bologna grew up in Stuart and describes fishing as a lifelong interest. His background began with freshwater fishing as a child and expanded after he bought his first boat as a teenager. He now guides visitors and local anglers in the waters around Stuart, Jensen Beach and Fort Pierce.
The boat page describes a 2022 C-Hawk built with an open fishing layout, seating, a spotting tower, modern sonar and a trolling motor. The tower also provides some shade. Confirm the passenger limit, restroom arrangements and boarding point with Steve because those details are not clearly listed on the reviewed pages.
Inshore rivers and nearby ocean water
The inshore program works around the meeting of the Indian River Lagoon and St. Lucie River. Snook are a main focus, with tarpon, jacks and other species providing possibilities as conditions change. This is the option to discuss if you prefer local coastal water to a long offshore ride.
The website describes offshore fishing as seasonal, from April through August, and lists sailfish, kingfish and mahi among its targets. Shark trips are another advertised choice. Ask which trips are actually available on your dates and how the plan changes when the ocean is unsuitable.
Listed rates and holiday charges
Inshore trips are posted at $600 for four hours and $800 for six. Offshore choices are $650 for four hours and $850 for six. A four-hour shark trip is listed at $600. The rates page adds $50 for holidays.
Use those amounts to compare options, then ask Steve for the total for your group. Confirm the deposit, cancellation deadline, gratuity and any changes connected with a specialist target. Do not assume that an offshore trip is offered year-round simply because a price remains visible online.
Before getting aboard
Call or text the captain to arrange a trip that suits your experience and the ages of your guests. Ask whether licenses, live bait, ice, drinks and fish cleaning are included in the quoted package. A clear packing list is especially helpful for families arriving without their own equipment.
If a shark or goliath grouper experience interests you, discuss the handling and release plan directly. The operator’s general species pages are not a current harvest-rule guide. Plan personal sun protection and a rain layer, and keep your meeting instructions handy because the service covers more than one departure area.
Details checked October 4, 2026, using the operator’s published information. Rates, boats, meeting points and policies can change; confirm the final trip details directly. Listed species describe possible targets, not a guaranteed catch or an open harvest season.
