Captain Pete’s fishing background
Peter Frederiksen describes himself as a third-generation Florida fishing native with more than 30 years on local waters. His family’s fishing history includes supplying an Indian Rocks Beach seafood business. He brings that background to shallow-water trips around northern Pinellas County.
Dunedin and Clearwater are the main area covered here. Boca Grande and Homosassa trips require separate travel and arrangements. Confirm the departure town before booking accommodation around a particular outing.
The 24-foot Proline Flatback
Captain Pete runs a custom 24-foot Proline Flatback with a half tower and Yamaha 200. A 50-gallon livewell, remote-controlled trolling motor, Power-Pole and two large coolers are listed aboard.
The tower helps with looking for fish and navigating shallow water. The boat’s equipment supports live-bait fishing as well as casting lures. Ask about boarding, shade and passenger comfort if those details will affect your group.
Local fishing and the listed prices
Snook, redfish, trout and cobia are the main advertised fishing targets. Live bait and artificial lures are both used. The trout description specifically mentions soft plastics and topwater plugs.
The website lists a four-hour half day at $450 and a six-hour full day at $550, each for one to four people. Its labels include a plus sign after the hours, so confirm the actual departure and return times rather than assuming extra time is included. Gear, bait and tackle are supplied; ask about license coverage, drinks and fish cleaning.
Separate seasonal outings
Boca Grande tarpon trips are advertised for May and June, with a six-hour offering listed at $750 for one to four anglers. These are a different target and location from a standard Dunedin trip.
Homosassa backcountry fishing is available by arrangement. The website also lists a four-hour scallop outing at $300 for up to six people. Confirm the legal season, snorkeling equipment and current rate before planning that trip. A scalloping passenger limit should not be applied to the inshore fishing boat without asking.
Before confirming a date
The reviewed page does not set out a clear deposit or cancellation policy. Request those terms, including the weather decision, along with your quote. Tell Captain Pete the number and ages of guests and whether your priority is bait fishing, lure fishing or tarpon.
Bring personal sun protection and clothing for an open-boat outing. Ask what food and drinks to pack and where to park at the chosen launch.
Details checked October 1, 2026, using the operator’s published information. Rates, boats, meeting points and policies can change; confirm the final trip details directly. Listed species describe possible targets, not a guaranteed catch or an open harvest season.
