A small skiff and a focused day

The published flats-boat limit is two anglers. A poling-skiff trip lets the guide approach shallow fish quietly while the angler prepares a cast. Fly and spinning tackle are both available, so discuss which approach fits your experience.

Sight fishing asks more of the angler than simply waiting beside a baited rod. Montoro recommends allowing several days when pursuing demanding flats fish, giving the group more chances if wind or visibility changes. A casting practice session before traveling can make the guided time more useful.

Published 2026 rates

The rate page lists four hours at $650 and eight hours at $900. Prime-season tarpon fly trips from April through June are full days at $1,000. Tournament guiding is listed at $1,300 per tournament day.

Tarpon bookings often run several consecutive days. Call about shorter openings rather than assuming any calendar date is available. The guide supplies fishing licenses, flies, bait, tackle and ice; guests bring food, drinks and sun protection.

Payment and cancellation details

The policy describes a 50 percent deposit for advance bookings and full payment when booking within thirty days. Other wording gives different balance-payment timing, so obtain the exact schedule for your trip. Zelle and qualifying checks are listed; credit cards are no longer accepted.

Ordinary deposit refunds require written notice thirty days ahead. The tarpon-season policy is stricter, with no refunds or date changes stated for April through July. Captain-cancelled unsafe weather results in credit for a future date within the same calendar year under the posted terms.

Confirm where to meet

The Miami street address is a business contact location, not a confirmed public launch. Ask Raul which marina serves the area you have chosen and allow for the drive, particularly for Flamingo or the Keys.

Wear non-marking footwear and bring non-aerosol sunscreen. Wind may lead to a switch from fly tackle to spinning gear rather than cancellation. Discuss that possibility before booking if using a fly rod is the main purpose of your trip.
