Jose Rodriguez and the bay boat

The published boat is a 2016 Key West Bay Reef 210, a 21-foot center console powered by a 150-horsepower Yamaha. Jose describes hands-on instruction suited to people who may never have fished before. Families and children are welcome.

The boat is used for shallow inshore water rather than long offshore expeditions. Discuss the ages of children, life-jacket fit and seating when booking. The four-person limit applies across the advertised charter types.

Saltwater by day or after dark

Daytime outings fish areas such as mangrove edges, flats and channels around Biscayne Bay. Possible targets include snook, tarpon, seatrout and other inshore species. Jose chooses the route according to the tide and conditions.

Night fishing concentrates on feeding areas around lights, docks, bridges and channels. It is a distinct trip choice, with a different start time and setting from a daytime family outing. Ask what clothing and personal supplies will be useful after sunset.

Freshwater and lobster options

Freshwater trips explore Miami-area canals and lakes for peacock bass, largemouth bass and other species. Seasonal nighttime lobster netting uses lighting and specialized nets. Availability must match the applicable season and local rules.

The operator advertises equipment and license arrangements for these services. Confirm the particular freshwater license or lobster requirements for each guest directly with Jose, as they differ from an ordinary saltwater boat charter. Do not rely on one general inclusion statement for every activity.

Prices and trip lengths are provided during the booking conversation rather than in a public rate table. The site lists rods, reels, tackle, live bait, ice and water among the supplies. Ask about meals, catch handling and gratuity.

Send your dates, preferred activity and number of guests. Obtain the final fare, launch location, deposit and cancellation terms before committing. If weather changes the plan, agree on any alternative fishery and meeting point before leaving for the dock.

Details checked October 4, 2026, using the operator’s published information. Rates, boats, meeting points and policies can change; confirm the final trip details directly. Listed species describe possible targets, not a guaranteed catch or an open harvest season.
