Captain Zac and the skiff

Captain Zac earned his Coast Guard captain’s license at 18. The fleet page describes a custom 24-foot Carolina Skiff DLX with a spotting tower, a Suzuki 140-horsepower four-stroke engine and a jack plate for shallow water. A removable Bimini provides shade.

The boat is used for fishing and scalloping. Trips explore the Crystal River area and nearby Gulf waters. The captain’s high lookout helps with spotting fish and reading the shallow water, while the exact route depends on the chosen activity.

Inshore fishing packages

The detailed package page lists a half day at $500 for two guests and a full day at $600 for two. Additional guests are $75 each, with a listed maximum of six. Rods, tackle, bait, ice, a cooler, water and fishing-license coverage are included.

Redfish, seatrout, snook and sheepshead are among the advertised targets. Grouper, cobia, sharks, mackerel and tarpon may also feature when suitable. Tell Zac whether you want a general fishing trip or hope to focus on one species.

Other ways to spend the day

A four-hour scalloping trip is listed at $400 for one or two guests, $450 for three or four and $500 for five or six. The website includes snorkeling equipment and describes searching grass beds in roughly three to eight feet of water. Confirm the legal season and the swimming ability needed for your party.

A full-day scallop-and-fishing combination starts at $750 for two, plus $75 per extra person up to six. Bowfishing and gigging are offered too, but the homepage and package page show different starting prices. Get a direct quote instead of relying on either figure.

Reserve the right activity

Bookings are linked through the operator’s online reservation service. A direct phone or email was not confirmed in the reviewed pages. Use the website to ask about departure instructions, cancellation terms and any deposit.

Spearfishing has separate equipment and rental details. Mention your experience before choosing that option. For a family fishing or scalloping trip, give the captain everyone’s age and ask which belongings should stay ashore.

Details checked October 2, 2026, using the operator’s published information. Rates, boats, meeting points and policies can change; confirm the final trip details directly. Listed species describe possible targets, not a guaranteed catch or an open harvest season.
