Tony Mathis and the local fishery

Tony says he has fished Gulf Coast inshore waters since 1967 and guided year-round since 2004. A Georgia native who settled in North Florida, he particularly enjoys introducing children to fishing. His main advertised fish are spotted seatrout, redfish and flounder.

Fishing reservations explore the inshore Gulf rather than distant offshore grounds. Describe whether your party wants casting practice, a family outing or time focused on a particular species. Ask which approach suits the season and current water conditions.

The Carolina Skiff

The listed vessel is a 2015 Carolina Skiff DLV measuring 25.8 feet, with a 200-horsepower Suzuki four-stroke engine. A tower and T-top combination, 10-foot Power-Pole and remotely controlled trolling motor support shallow-water fishing.

The boat page mentions a high manufacturer capacity but explicitly says Tony does not carry that many guests. Obtain the actual charter passenger limit directly. Check seating, shade and boarding assistance for your group.

Fishing and scalloping supplies

Fishing packages include rods, reels, bait and fishing license coverage. Seasonal scalloping offers a different activity, with guests entering the water to search for scallops. Ask what masks, fins, snorkels and collection equipment are supplied.

Tony also offers help with accommodation, meals and riverfront RV arrangements. These should be quoted separately from a fishing reservation. Discuss swimming ability, children's ages and any equipment needs before selecting scalloping.

Booking at Deadman's Bay

Call Tony or email his direct address to obtain trip hours and current prices. Credit cards, cash and PayPal are listed payment options. Ask for the deposit amount, cancellation deadline and weather policy before committing.

Confirm the meeting dock at the marina's First Avenue South address. Request arrival time and parking directions, especially if you are bringing an RV. Keep lodging arrangements and the charter's passenger count in the confirmation.

Details checked October 9, 2026, using the operator’s published information. Rates, boats, meeting points and policies can change; confirm the final trip details directly. Listed species describe possible targets, not a guaranteed catch or an open harvest season.
